Applications for the 2007 Metro Lutheran Ministry Christmas Store will be taken at the MLM office starting Sept. 10 for people who come into the facility seeking other assistance.

The official Missouri application intake at the MLM office will be the week of Nov. 5 from 1-4 p.m. Official applications at the Kansas office the week of Nov. 12, from 1-4 p.m and Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Missouri MLM Office is at 3031 Holmes, Kansas City, Missouri 64109 (phone 816.931.0027). The Kansas MLM Office is at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 722 Reynolds, Kansas City, Kansas 66101 (phone: 913.342.8333).

The MLM Christmas Store will be at Immanuel at 1700 Westport Road Dec. 5-8. The Mission of the 2007 MLM Christmas Store Program is to improve the quality of life for families, older adults and other individuals not able to do for themselves. It offers a dignified chance for parents to give gifts to their children when they would not normally be able to. It also connects Lutheran churches to the community in one united effort to make a difference in the lives of a thousand families.

You can help the MLM 2007 Christmas Store:

• Individuals who enjoy shopping or feel it would be a worthwhile experience for youth or other groups can participate in the Christmas Tree gift drive. The Christmas Store will deliver a paper Christmas tree to your church with gift tags on it, so members purchase a gift or two and bring them back on a designated date for distribution, or individuals may deliver them to the MLM office.
• Volunteering for set-up days Dec. 3 and 4; shopping assistance for the clients Dec. 5-8; helping with gift delivery, Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
