Holy Communion

  Holy communion
Holy Communion is celebrated during all of our Sunday morning worship services and many of our occasional services. The sacrament is offered to all who are baptized members of the body of Christ, regardless of age or intellectual ability. Children must have the permission of their parents. First Communion classes are offered regularly. Wine is available in both a common cup (symbolizing our unity in Christ) and individual cups. Juice is also available by individual cup. The wine is red and the juice is clear. Our communion bread is whole wheat. Wafers are also available for those who prefer them. If you are gluten intolerant, please let the office know in advance and we can make arrangements for a gluten-free wafer to be offered instead.

  Lay Communion Ministers
Members of the congregation have been trained by the pastor to distribute the sacrament of Holy Communion to persons who are unable to attend one of our regular worship services due to reasons of health or mobility. The elements are consecrated at the table as part of the One Body of Christ in the bread and wine, broken and shared by the worshipping assembly and then brought to the home-bound by a Lay Communion Minister who recalls the words which were spoken by the pastor, making this an extension of the Lord’s Table. Those desiring home communion may contact the pastor or the church administrative assistant and arrangements will be made.
