"Musical Expressions"-Fall Preschool Music Groups

Erin Haynes, board certified music therapist, is leading a preschool music and movement group! Musical Expressions is a fun, interactive group where children ages 2-5 and their caregivers will participate in a variety of music-making activities to stimulate creativity, cognitive development, and socialization. Each class will be based on a children’s book. We will read/sing the story then participate in music activities that reinforce the theme. We will conclude the class with a snack and time for participants to get to know each other better.

Worker Justice Clinic A Success

We had two workers come in for our clinic this past Thursday, but we also worked on claims that were already in process. We hope to have small (business-sized) cards available within the next couple of weeks for you to pick up. The idea is to hand the cards out to construction workers you might pass on a job site, and to restaurant staff and just about everyone you meet. Wage theft is a common problem in Johnson County and we want to raise awareness as well as provide resources to those who need help.

Food Distribution Servant Event

About a dozen of us worked on Saturday, October 9th from 9-11:30a.m to help Metro Lutheran Ministries in its food distibution. Among the items handed out were many varieties of bread, acorn squash, cactus, watermellon and pumpkins, strawberries, carrots, two types of potatoes, and some sweets. MLM distributes food the 2nd Saturday of every month.

VBS Service Project Brings Smiles

(The following e-mail was sent to Suzanne Bartling at MLM regarding the sack lunches our VBS kids packed.) Suzanne, Just wondered if you could pass this information along.
