Submitted by apridgen on Thu, 09/09/2010 - 10:36
We are partnering with the Kansas City Worker Justice Project to provide free legal assistance to low-income workers who are victims of wage theft.
Clinics are held at the church on the 1st Thursday of Jan., April, July & October, but our members also assist with the monthly Wage Theft Clinics held at El Centro. To learn more about this work visit www.kcwjp.org.
Grief Support Group
As a response to the reality of the loss of loved ones experienced by our fellow members, a Grief Support and Education Group was started under the leadership of Dr. Marcia Biel. The purpose is to help people understand the variety of responses we have to grief. Also, to think about how to answer all of the questions that are raised. To give help in coping with decisions that may have never been a part of your life and to find solace in Scripture and your faith.
