"Musical Expressions"-Fall Preschool Music Groups

Erin Haynes, board certified music therapist, is leading a preschool music and movement group! Musical Expressions is a fun, interactive group where children ages 2-5 and their caregivers will participate in a variety of music-making activities to stimulate creativity, cognitive development, and socialization. Each class will be based on a children’s book. We will read/sing the story then participate in music activities that reinforce the theme. We will conclude the class with a snack and time for participants to get to know each other better.

Chancel Choir

Leading God's people in singing words of praise, prayer, hope and lament in order to bring people closer to God through music.

We have a lot of fun together during Wed. night practice (7:30-8:30PM) and provide vocal support and special music during the 10:30AM worship service most Sundays and occasionally sing during the 8:00AM service as well.

If you love to sing, whether you think you're good at it or not, join us in making a glad sound!

Dr. Greg Haynes on the Marimba

Christmas Eve we enjoyed a prelude played on the marimba by Dr. Greg Haynes, one of our Developers of Music Ministries in the congregation. You can watch a video of his performance by visiting our Media page on this site.

From the Music Director

We are in the midst of a busy season for music at LCR, and several events associated with our liturgical celebration days have transpired this past month.  Most recently, the LCR chancel choir, led by Steve Lewis, delivered a very successful performance of Gabriel Faure's Requiem on the evening of All Saints' Sunday and raised $320.00 in special funds to be dedicated toward music for Holy Week 201

Handbell Choir

Ringing out under the direction of Pat Latshaw

Never rung handbells before? We'll teach you! Can't read music? We can help with that, too. We perform roughly once a month at the 8:00am and 10:30am Sunday worship services and in December go "bell caroling" in local nursing homes and retirement villages to spread a little Christmas cheer.
