Peter believed in Jesus—but when Jesus headed down a road Peter didn’t understand, Peter tried to redirect him. Sometimes we do the same, asking Jesus to follow the future we have already imagined. But disciples belong behind Jesus, trusting that there may be more life, grace, and possibility ahead than we can see from where we are standing.
