There is a story our world tells us every single day. We hear it so often we don't even notice it anymore. It says, "There isn't enough." Not enough money. Not enough jobs. Not enough housing. Not enough opportunity. Eventually that story moves inside us until we begin believing we aren't enough either. But Isaiah and Jesus tell a different story. When we've counted the loaves, done the math, and decided how the story ends, Jesus simply says, "Bring it here... to me."

They go to the tomb knowing exactly what they will find. A body. A stone. An ending they’ve already made peace with. Because that’s what we do. We learn how to live with what’s finished. We adjust. We lower expectations. We carry on. And then—everything breaks open. The ground shakes. The stone moves. And the world they thought they understood… doesn’t hold anymore.

This Easter sermon isn’t about comfort—it’s about collision. The collision between the life we’ve learned to manage… and a resurrection we cannot control. Because if the grave isn’t final— then neither is your disappointment, your fear, or the version of the future you’ve already settled for.

Jesus isn’t behind you, tied to what was. He’s ahead of you—already in the places you’re afraid to go.

Which means this isn’t a story to admire. It’s a summons.
